The most important riding event with CP cycles was without no objection 5 summits and sixpack, which usually took place on first sunday in June. Miss it and you miss a lot... The last year, Greg and me have invented one more action, called Tequila sunrise. The Idea behind was to enjoy the riding in the night or early morning, found a nice place to spot the sunrise, and welcome the morning sun with a tequila. We did this sometime in the fall. While doing 5 summits and sixpack in Grenoble would be quite demanding, I was feeling that the tequila sunrise would fit very well here. I have a great mountain above my apartment with a nice view, and the downhill is cool as well.
11th November is a national holiday. The weather forecast was great. Wind, later on some clouds and in the middle of the day rain.
So what is the best time to go biking? Morning!!!
I get out of bed before 5, eat peanut butter sandwich, and equipped with the led light (my better light has broken holder) I have set out to climb to the St. Eynard fortress. The riding in the morning has a very special spirit. The atmosphere is very peacefull and calm. Road illuminated with moon is almost car free (to be safe, I turned my head light back to warn cars from back, because I did not have a red blinking light). Sometimes, there are two green
eyes of cat. It just georgous. Than, the sky starts to bright, getting blue and red. When I have reached the peak, I could not see the sunrise though, because the wind brought the clouds. Despite being very windy and cold up there, I rest for a while. The moment was special. The most people in Grenoble under me were sleeping, and I was on top of the mountain, watching other mountains with snow caps.
I set off for nice downhill, did one more climb for another great downhill above the Bastille. I met there an old couple doing morning walk in fast pace. Both of us were equally surprised, but I felt close to them.
Bonne journee.
